FCL Graphics Adds to Leadership Team, Expands Capabilities

With the New Year quickly approaching and thoughts of resolutions, FCL Graphics took this time to reflect on all of the changes 2017 had in store: the company added staff to its leadership team, expanded its direct mail, finishing and binding capabilities, as well as capacity. FCL also has a newly designed website.

FCL Graphics is pleased to announce that Amy O’Brien and Donna Caldarulo have joined the FCL leadership team. O’Brien joined in late August as controller and Caldarulo joined in late November as VP, sales support. The company hired both O’Brien and Caldarulo to strengthen its business financially and operationally.

FCL Graphics’ clients needed more, so it delivered. The company purchased an inkjet base and added an MCS Eagle Inkjet head to it for expanded capabilities with in-line addressing on its stitching equipment. The company also expanded its tabbing capabilities through the purchase of two new Kirk Rudy 535 Tabmasters.

In addition, FCL increased capacity within its bindery area by leveling part of the floor that used to be a part of the docks. This allowed for the addition of three folders and a cutter. The company also expanded into a portion of its warehouse to add a third stitcher to its list of equipment.

We all wish we had a crystal ball to see the future. The paper market continues to be difficult to predict due to ongoing fundamental stresses at the mills and along the supply chain. We do, however, see initial signs of hope the paper market could improve in 2023 and have balance largely restored within the next two years. Our recommendations for marketers for Q3-Q4 remain the same: Plan your campaigns well ahead and be prepared for unexpected delays. We are predicting additional price increases for the back half of the year due to still rising input costs – pulp, labor, energy, chemicals, and freight. With the country experiencing 9% inflation in June, it’s no surprise these costs remain unstable. In fact, pulp prices are up 20% in just the past five months.

Quad/Graphics Debuts Groundbreaking Predictive Direct Mail Technology

Quad/Graphics announces a new technology platform for testing direct marketing that lifts response rates, increasing reliability and shortening time to market at a fraction of the cost of traditional mail testing.
