LSC Communications and United Business Mail announced that UBM has acquired LSC’s commingle business for $11.25 million in cash. The transaction includes LSC’s commingle facility located in Aurora, Illinois, which LSC acquired as part of the acquisition of RRD Print Logistics in July of 2018. UBM has been a leader in the commingle industry for more than 30 years. Commingling is a process that enables mailers to combine their mail streams to maximize postage discounts offered by the USPS. Bill Wetzel, Chief Executive Officer of United Business Mail, stated, “UBM is honored to build upon the very strong relationships that LSC has created with their clients and this acquisition will further our position as a leading commingle provider to the mailing industry.”
ColorDynamics and Superior Graphics has entered into a definitive agreement under which ColorDynamics will acquire Superior Graphics. Superior Graphics, a 45-year-old company, is a large-format and digital communication company specializing in promotional and point-of-purchase (POP) signage.
“By combining two world-class organizations, it allows us to close the loop and offer customers the most comprehensive package in the industry. In the past, customers expected printers to specialize in only one area. Now they demand partners that can do it all,” said Matt Coltharp, president of ColorDynamics.
John Ehrenberger, president of Superior Graphics, recognized the value and versatility delivered from this acquisition. “We are excited about the opportunity this creates for our customers and employees. The combined abilities of both companies will deliver a powerful portfolio of options for customers of both Superior Graphics and ColorDynamics.”
The combined companies can offer wide-format graphics up to 120” wide from UV-cured flatbed and roll-to-roll devices, high-quality graphics on flexible media using Latex ink technology, along with HP Indigo digital printing up to 20×29″ sheets with reportedly the only HP Indigo 10000 digital press in Dallas. Web presses up to eight colors with Texas’ most versatile in-line system with variable personalization. Sheetfed is available in both UV and conventional inks on presses up to 10 colors with double coating and perfecting capabilities. Complete post-press services including fulfillment, Web-to-print technology and mail services as a certified DMU are now standard offerings across both facilities.
