Gap Inc. Kicks Off Holiday Season Hiring

Gap Inc. (NYSE: GPS) today announced plans to hire seasonal associates for its Gap, Banana Republic, Athleta and Old Navy stores, as well as call centers and distribution centers for the 2017 holiday season.

The company will host a single day hiring event in all Gap, Gap Outlet, Banana Republic, Banana Republic Factory and Old Navy stores across the United States and Canada from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (local time) on Saturday, September 23, 2017. Job candidates are encouraged to apply for a position prior to the holiday hiring event through Gap Inc.’s online seasonal hiring career page. Additionally, Athleta will be recruiting for the holiday season through the career page.

Global Talent and Sustainability.  “Our teams play a crucial role in creating memorable shopping experiences for our customers everyday, especially in peak season. Their daily interaction and support of our customers – whether online, in stores, call centers, or distribution centers – are essential in providing the very best experience this holiday season.”

Seasonal positions vary from serving customers on the selling floor at Gap, Banana Republic, Athleta and Old Navy stores – to handling the high volume of calls at customer call centers and coordinating shipments from the distribution centers to stores and directly to customers who’ve purchased items via mobile devices, online or in store.

Seasonal associates will qualify for the same merchandise discount as the company’s current associates, just in time for holiday gift-giving. Gap Inc.’s employee merchandise discount includes 50 percent off regular-priced merchandise at Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy stores; 30 percent off at Outlet and Factory stores; and 25 percent off at Athleta stores. Additional benefits include wellness events such as flu shots, family support such as back-up child care and access to daycare services, as well as discounts on vision and dental programs.

Costco Wholesale Corporation Reports January Sales Results

Costco Wholesale Corporation reported net sales of $15.76 billion for the retail month of January, the four weeks ended January 30, 2022, an increase of 15.5 percent from $13.64 billion last year. Lunar New Year/Chinese New Year occurred on February 1, 11 days earlier this year. The shift favorably impacted January’s Other International and Total Company sales by approximately 4% and 0.5%, respectively. For the twenty-two weeks ended January 30, 2022, the Company reported net sales of $92.10 billion, an increase of 16.4 percent from $79.11 billion last year.
