Lecta’s Premium Publishing Papers at the Frankfurt Book Fair

The company will exhibit its full range of premium coated and uncoated papers for the publishing industry.

Once again, Lecta will attend the Frankfurt Book Fair, October 11th to 15th, bringing together professionals worldwide at the largest publishing event of the year.

This year, Lecta will present its new book “Vertical”, a suggestive series of photographs taken vertically from a variety of perspectives and distances. The book is printed on Lecta’s premium range of publishing papers, showing the excellent print results that can be achieved on a number of different papers.

Lecta’s recently launched GardaPremium Natural, a 2-side coated silk paper with a smooth surface and a natural shade, is another noteworthy development that will be featured. GardaPremium Natural extends Lecta’s high-quality line of publishing papers for all printing needs: GardaMatt Art, GardaMatt Ultra, GardaMatt Smooth, Condat matt Périgord,​ Condat silk,  GardaPat 13 BIANKA, GardaPat 13 KIARA and GardaPat 13 KLASSICA, CreatorSilk and Coral Book.

France is this year’s country guest of honor at the Frankfurt Book Fair. In keeping, Lecta will premiere its Condat coated paper campaign “Des papiers à l’image de notre culture” (Paper, a reflection of our culture), featuring Condat matt Périgord, Condat silk and Condat gloss​ as the media support for the creativity and originality of French culture art, film and fashion. On Thursday October 12th, 10am-12pm, a special event open to the public will be held at the Lecta stand showing the involvement of Condat papers in the French publishing world.

West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd. and Mercer International Inc. announced an agreement to dissolve their 50/50 joint venture in Cariboo Pulp and Paper. Reports: Appleton Coated to restart machine

Finally, some good news on Appleton Coated. One of the shuttered paper mill’s machines is reportedly starting back up on Monday, and the mill is recalling 50 workers. Representatives for Industrial Assets, the mill’s new owner, declined comment on the reported restart. But some workers and the regional head of the United Steelworkers union say some employees got recall notices on Tuesday. “It’s a temporary thing. We’re hopeful,” said Michael Bolton, the Menasha-based director of United Steelworkers District 2, which covers Wisconsin and Michigan. “We agreed to a 90-day temporary operation," he said. "The new owner said he was going to try and sell this or get it going again. He’s living up to what he said. It’s better than seeing it sit idle.” The 50 recalled workers will join 38 employees who had been previously retained for mill maintenance, for a total of 88.
