The Navigator Company to increase prices in North America

Kimberly-Clark Corporation announced that it has completed its acquisition of a majority stake in Thinx, Inc., an industry disruptor and the leader in reusable period and incontinence underwear category. The company made an initial minority investment in Thinx in 2019. "Our investment in the success of Thinx represents a compelling strategic fit as we build our portfolio of period and light bladder leakage solutions, and we are excited for the opportunity this expanded partnership will provide to both Kimberly-Clark and Thinx," said Russ Torres, Group President of Kimberly-Clark's North American consumer business. "The investment in Thinx paves the road for collaboration and allows us to work together to drive category growth with our retail partners while continuing to support Thinx in direct-to-consumer channels."

The Association of Western Pulp and Paper Workers (AWPPW) has given Ponderay Newsprint the ten (10) days written notice of termination of the Labor Agreement. The Labor Agreement terminated in its entirety on July 24, 2017. The Company has continued to delay in meeting with the Union and has delayed in providing information that is relevant to the collective bargaining process. The Union believes that terminating the current labor agreement is an essential step in the direction of the Union's goal of achieving a new labor agreement. Termination of the Labor Agreement will provide the Union the opportunity to engage in an unfair labor practice strike to encourage the employer to bargain to an agreement in good faith. The Kuura textile fibre is produced in Äänekoski, Finland, at Metsä Spring and Itochu’s jointly-owned demo plant. The joint demo phase project, which is built around the Äänekoski demo plant, aims to demonstrate the feasibility of a novel production process and textile fibre product, from both a technical and economic standpoint. This advanced direct dissolution method saw its beginnings in a collaboration with universities and research institutions over a decade ago. The demo phase began in late 2020 and it is estimated to last approximately two years. “We are testing a novel way of producing textile fibres from undried pulp, based on safer and more environmentally friendly chemicals. Our project has now reached a point where we can shift our focus more on investigating the fibre’s market potential and its suitability in different applications. Our partner ITOCHU, which has operated in the textile industry for over 100 years already, plays a key role in this. The launch of the Kuura brand supports ITOCHU work at the customer front,” says Niklas von Weymarn, CEO of Metsä Spring.
