Pregis introduces the Performance Flexibles Renew Series film solutions

Pregis®, a leading global manufacturer of flexible packaging and protective packaging solutions, recently introduced the Performance Flexibles Renew™ Series as the company continues to innovate and expand its sustainable offerings. Pregis has offered a wide range of Renew solutions for the inside-the-box packaging category, and this brand of solutions represents the most sustainable option within resin-based packaging alternatives as the brand continues to expand across product lines.

The newest addition to the Pregis Renew Series is designed specifically for critical flexible packaging applications, including food, pharmaceutical, medical, and household consumer goods, incorporating innovative materials and recycled content that is custom engineered to the client’s specification. Engineered with a focus on three critical components of sustainability – recyclable, recycled content, and renewable – the Renew Series meets the growing demand for flexible packaging products that enable a circular economy.

Pregis developed the Performance Flexibles Renew Series to address the entire value chain with blown film solutions, from responsible sourcing of recycled content and renewable resin resources to designing and producing film structures that are reusable or recyclable.

Mondi shines by winning two awards for sustainable food packaging

Mondi has been recognised in this year’s Austrian Green Star Packaging Awards for two recent sustainable packaging innovations developed using its customer-centric approach, EcoSolutions: PerFORMing - paper-based packaging with special barrier coating to protect cheese slices - Austria’s biggest retailer REWE worked together with Mondi to launch a more sustainable cheese tray for their organic brand Ja! Natürlich. Mondi developed a special kraft paper, Advantage Formable Brown, to replace rigid plastic trays. Its unique stretch characteristics mean it can be formed into a shallow tray enhanced with a special barrier coating. Fully recyclable thermoforming plastic film for meat - Mondi was able to reinvent packaging for Austrian meat producer Hütthaler. The packaging was designed for recycling while maintaining optimum barrier properties and replacing a previous, less sustainable, packaging.
