Why You Should Start Sending Postcards Again — Even If You’re Not Traveling (travelandleisure.com)

Ah, the age old practice of letter writing. If you’re a fan of putting pen to page, there’s also a good chance you also enjoy sending postcards home whenever you travel. It might be a while before you can send postcards from far off places again, but that doesn’t mean you can’t keep in touch with friends and family via snail mail in the meantime, as many us remain separated by the pandemic. With that, I’m here to sing the praises of sending your loved ones postcards and greeting cards, both the artistic and the playful, whether it’s to celebrate an occasion or just because. And luckily, there’s no shortage of beautiful cards available to buy online.

Although the pandemic has been lonely at times, it has inspired me to send more mail. In fact, I’d say that one of the best things I’ve done during the pandemic is starting to write to a pen pal. These days, the excitement of opening my mailbox to find a letter from a friend or note from my pen pal brings me joy in ways I might not have appreciated pre-pandemic.

Mailing Industry Coalition Seeks Congressional Action to Stop Postage Increase

Dear Industry Member: Representatives from the Coalition for a 21st Century Postal Service (C-21), including ACMA’s Hamilton Davison, recently hosted staffers from a half dozen Congressional offices. The event was opened by mailing industry proponent Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-WI-6th, pictured at right). In addition to stressing the importance of the Postal Service, the goal was to educate a new crop of Capitol Hill postal staffers from offices that are not as familiar with what keeps the USPS delivering affordably and reliably and the need for legislation now. Three new titles in two-year Hearst extension for Wyndeham

Wyndeham Group has secured a two-year extension of its print contract with Hearst UK which includes the addition of three new titles. The three new arrivals, Red, Red Travel and Country Living, bring the number of magazines Wyndeham prints for Hearst up to 18, and will be printed at Wyndeham Roche in Cornwall. Wyndeham's first magazine work for Hearst was the printing of lifestyle weekly Reveal in the early 2000s. It secured 10 titles in 2016 in the wake of Polestar’s collapse. Group sales director Jon Hearnden said: “We have a very strong relationship with Hearst UK and over its span we have proven ourselves to be reliable and capable of turning over a consistent product. The Home Depot Announces Third Quarter Results

The Home Depot® reported sales of $36.8 billion for the third quarter of fiscal 2021, an increase of $3.3 billion, or 9.8 percent from the third quarter of fiscal 2020. Comparable sales for the third quarter of fiscal 2021 increased 6.1 percent, and comparable sales in the U.S. increased 5.5 percent. Net earnings for the third quarter of fiscal 2021 were $4.1 billion, or $3.92 per diluted share, compared with net earnings of $3.4 billion, or $3.18 per diluted share, in the same period of fiscal 2020. For the third quarter of fiscal 2021, diluted earnings per share increased 23.3 percent from the same period in the prior year.
