1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. To Hire 8,000 Seasonal Employees Across Its Family Of Brands

1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. (NASDAQ: FLWS) today announced it plans to hire approximately 8,000 associates nationwide for positions across its gourmet food brands as it prepares for the 2017 holiday shopping season. Interviewing for new hires is now underway for seasonal roles at Harry & David, Cheryl’s Cookies and The Popcorn Factory.

Available positions vary by brand and include full-time and part-time roles in high-volume areas such as production, gift assembly and retail stores, as well as call center, distribution and fulfillment center operations.  Most of the seasonal positions are being offered in Illinois, Ohio and Oregon.

Patagonia’s used clothing program is beginning to take off. The company has been gradually building out its own resale platform, Worn Wear. Now, the four-year-old service, which allows customers to sell their own Patagonia items and buy authenticated used ones, is having a “record year” in sales, according to the company. L Brands Reports September 2017 Sales

L Brands, Inc. reported net sales of $981.6 million for the five weeks ended Sept. 30, 2017, an increase of 1 percent, compared to net sales of $971.4 million for the five weeks ended Oct. 1, 2016. Comparable sales decreased 2 percent for the five weeks ended Sept. 30, 2017. For September, the exit of the swim and apparel categories had a negative impact of about 2 percentage points and 3 percentage points to total company and Victoria’s Secret comparable sales, respectively. 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. Reports 9.0 Percent Revenue Growth for Its Fiscal 2022 First Quarter

Total consolidated revenues increased 9.0 percent to $309.4 million, compared with total consolidated revenues of $283.8 million in the prior year period, reflecting strong ecommerce growth of 10.3 percent including contributions from PersonalizationMall, which the Company acquired on August 3, 2020. Excluding the non-comparable five weeks of contribution from PersonalizationMall in the quarter, total net revenues increased 4.3 percent, compared with the prior year period. Gross profit margin for the quarter was 40.6 percent, a decline of 10 basis points compared with 40.7 percent in the prior year period. Operating expenses as a percent of total revenues, increased 170 basis points to 47.1 percent. Net loss for the quarter was $13.2 million, or ($0.20) per share.
