When we launched Canva Education in 2019, our goal was simple: to give every teacher and student free access to intuitive, powerful tools that make learning more visual, collaborative, and creative. We’ve always believed visual communication is a core skill, that creativity belongs in every classroom, and that budget or geography should never be a barrier.

Today, that mission is alive in over 190 countries, across more than 800,000 schools, and 16,000 districts – and it’s growing fast. From classrooms in rural towns to Ministries of Education rolling out Canva at scale, this milestone reflects a global education community that’s embracing change, empowering learners, and reimagining what teaching and learning can look like.

Print Unit Sales Fell 5.5% Last Week (publishersweekly.com)

Unit sales of print books fell 5.5% in the week ended May 30, 2020, compared to the week ended May 23, at outlets that report to NPD BookScan. The decline was mainly due to a 25.5% drop in unit sales in the young adult category, in which The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins sold about 270,000 copies when it was initially released. Even with the decline compared to the prior week, unit sales were up 8.1% compared to the similar week in 2019.

Amazon gets federal approval to expand drone deliveries (chainstoreage.com)

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is giving Prime Air additional permissions that allow it to operate drones for more deliveries in a wider area. FAA regulations require that all commercial drone operators are able to maintain a line of sight to their drones until it approves a technology that can safely enable drones to fly beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS), a term used in aviation to describe flying a drone where the remote pilot can't see it directly with their own eyes. Instead, a remote pilot relies on instruments or technology to monitor and control the drone at all times. FAA approval for Amazon to operate drones BVLOS will allow Prime Air to further expand drone deliveries and lays the foundation for the e-tailer to scale drone delivery operations to more locations in the U.S.
