Expanding Amcor’s leadership in innovation, safety, sustainability

Amcor is expanding its leadership role in packaging innovation, product safety and sustainability in collaboration with customers and suppliers through membership of the Consumer Goods Forum (CGF).

The CGF is a non-profit, global association that embraces retailers and manufacturers and is run by a board of chief executive officers – many of whom are Amcor customers.  More than 400 companies from 70 countries are CGF members.

With operations spanning the globe, Amcor welcomes the opportunity to continue to share our expertise and influence strategic agenda, adding the CGF to our roster of memberships with select global forums and associations.

Mondi scores recycled paper at Sustainable Packaging News awards and further contributes to a circular economy

Mondi, a global leader in sustainable packaging and paper, recognized in two categories at the Sustainable Packaging News Awards 2022 for the circular economy and the overall category. The Tesco shopping bags, made from EcoVantage paper produced at Mondi’s Štětí mill in the Czech Republic, shows how suppliers can work with retailers to develop circular systems and turn waste back into a valuable resource. Mondi’s EcoVantage paper combines the strength, printability and appearance of a fresh fibre top layer with the sustainability advantages of a recycled fibre inner layer.

Sonoco ThermoSafe and ACL Airshop Announce Agreement for Handling and Repair of Pegasus ULD Temperature Controlled Bulk Shippers

Sonoco ThermoSafe and ACL Airshop announced a global agreement for the handling and repair of Sonoco ThermoSafe’s Pegasus ULD bulk temperature controlled containers. The Pegasus ULD™ is the world’s first passive bulk temperature controlled container for pharmaceutical use that is an approved unit load device, which allows it to speed through existing international ground handling and customs processes at the lowest possible cost. Engineered with composite materials, the unit load device will offer a lighter solution that is substantially more damage-resistant than traditional metal containers. Additionally, the Pegasus contains a fully integrated, FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) approved telemetry system, providing real-time, cloud-based data on payload and ambient temperature and key environmental factors, precisely synchronized with GPS location. ACL Airshop, headquartered in Greenville, S.C., and with air cargo support capabilities at more than 50 of the world’s top 100 cargo airports, will initially provide pre-conditioning, handling and repair services at air cargo facilities around the world representing key pharma hubs for import and export.
