Canadian sustainable digital flexible packaging leader expands reach by adding a new location in Montréal, Québec and upgrades head office to 50,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility

In response to significant growth of their customer base, Rootree Inc., Canada’s leader in sustainable digital flexible packaging, opened a second location in Montréal, Québec, and also moved their head office from Hamilton, Ontario to Burlington, Ontario.

Over the past year, Rootree Inc.’s customer base has rapidly grown across North America. In order to continue to provide quality service for sustainable digital flexible packaging, Rootree Inc. opened a second location in Montréal, Québec to serve their French-speaking and Québec-based clients more effectively. The expansion allows Québec and East Coast-based Canadian and US clients to:
*communicate with bilingual sales representatives,
*access Rootree Inc.’s offices and showrooms from a more central location, and
*receive sample deliveries in less time.

Additionally, in order to continue to keep up with the demand for sustainable digital flexible packaging, Rootree Inc. upgraded their head office in Hamilton, Ontario to a new 50,000 sq ft facility in Burlington, Ontario, more than doubling their capacity. This expansion means all manufacturing, creative services, co-packing, shipping, and receiving will take place at their new Burlington location. With this increase in space, Rootree now has the ability to continue to grow their team and bring in additional HP Indigo Digital Presses. They will also bring in three additional converting lines by the end of 2020.

Mayr-Melnhof Acquisition of Essentra Packaging Successfully Completed

The Mayr-Melnhof Group has successfully completed the acquisition of Essentra Packaging, which was agreed in June 2022, following the approval of all relevant competition authorities. The transaction includes 100% interest in ESNT Packaging & Securing Solutions Limited (UK) and 100% interest in Essentra Packaging US Inc (US) and its affiliated companies. With this acquisition, MM Packaging is expanding its range of folding boxes, package inserts and labels for the resilient and profitable healthcare & pharmaceutical market, creating an attractive platform for further growth. Essentra Packaging comprises 21 manufacturing sites in 10 countries across Europe, the US mainland and Puerto Rico, ideally complementing MM Packaging's current position in pharmaceutical packaging in Scandinavia and France. Essentra Packaging employs around 3,500 people and reported sales of around £370m (currently around EUR 410m) for 2021.
