National Graphic Solutions (NGS), of Appleton, Wisconsin, a leading print partner to the publishing industry for children’s books, educational products, and the general book market, has been acquired by BR Printers of San Jose, California.

NGS web offset and sheet fed print capabilities, coupled with extensive bindery, and finishing operations, allows the company to execute simple to complex projects, short to long runs, and standard to unique trim sizes. The company produced over one hundred million (100,000,000) books last year. In addition, NGS offers kit building and fulfillment solutions coupled with complete project management services.

Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) has set up a dedicated business unit for the industrial development, manufacture, and sale of printed and organic electronics. The company has also started production at its Wiesloch-Walldorf site, investing some five million euros in a complete production line for printed sensors. Driving Direct Mail Demand with Embellishments (piworld.com)

At PRINTING United Expo this week, Ashley Roberts, managing editor at PRINTING United Alliance, ran an informative panel session taking a closer look at driving direct mail results using embellishments. She was joined by Tim Armstrong, the founder of Flowcode; Scott Evans, president and CEO of Kenmore Envelope; and Chris Matthews, account manager for Scentisphere. RRD Confirms Receipt of Revised Proposal from Chatham Asset Management

R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company announced that it has received a proposal from Chatham Asset Management, LLC to acquire all of the outstanding shares of RRD not already owned by Chatham for $10.25 per share in cash. The RRD Board of Directors, consistent with its fiduciary duties and in accordance with the terms of its definitive merger agreement with affiliates of Atlas Holdings LLC, dated as of November 3, 2021, will carefully review and consider the Revised Chatham Proposal to determine the course of action that it believes is in the best interests of the Company and RRD shareholders. RRD shareholders do not need to take any action at this time and the Board has not yet made any determination with respect to the Revised Chatham Proposal.
