USPS Reports Consistent Performance Across All Mail Categories

The United States Postal Service reported new delivery performance metrics for the second week of the third quarter for fiscal year 2023 showing consistent or improved delivery performance across all mail categories. The average time for the Postal Service to deliver a mailpiece or package across the nation improved to 2.5 days.

FY23 third quarter service performance scores covering April 1 through April 14, included:
*First-Class Mail: 91.5% of First-Class Mail delivered on time against the USPS service standard, consistent with performance from the fiscal second quarter.
*Marketing Mail: 95.8% of Marketing Mail delivered on time against the USPS service standard, an increase of 1.2 percentage points from the fiscal second quarter.
*Periodicals: 87.8% of Periodicals delivered on time against the USPS service standard, an increase of 1.3 percentage points from the fiscal second quarter.

Last week Penguin Random House reported that it had a 23.3% increase in profits in 2020 over 2019 on a 4.6% gain in revenue, capping a remarkable year for America’s five biggest trade publishers that report financial results. Retail and industry groups warn a trade war could be costly

China has pledged a tit-for-tat response. In April, it said it would levy 25% tariffs on imports of 106 U.S. products in response to proposed American duties. The White House on Friday imposed $50 billion of tariffs on Chinese goods—a move, it says, will protect American workers and businesses from unfair trade practices. Adobe Reports Record Q4 and Fiscal 2020 Revenue

Fourth Quarter Fiscal Year 2020 Financial Highlights: *Adobe achieved record quarterly revenue of $3.42 billion in its fourth quarter of fiscal year 2020, which represents 14 percent year-over-year growth. Diluted earnings per share was $4.64 on a GAAP basis, and $2.81 on a non-GAAP basis. *GAAP operating income in the fourth quarter was $1.22 billion, and non-GAAP operating income was $1.54 billion. GAAP net income was $2.25 billion, and non-GAAP net income was $1.36 billion. *Cash flows from operations were a record $1.78 billion. *Adobe repurchased approximately 1.6 million shares during the quarter.
