KGL Accucoms Facilitates Inclusion of Five Leading US Publishers in India’s ‘One Nation, One Subscription’ (ONOS) Initiative

After three years of strategic planning and collaborative effort, the Government of India has officially launched the One Nation, One Subscription (ONOS) initiative—an ambitious program designed to expand access to academic and scientific knowledge across the country. By centralizing and funding subscriptions to major academic publishers at the national level, ONOS ensures that researchers, students, and institutions can access a vast repository of high-quality scholarly content without individual licensing barriers. We’re proud to share that five of our clients are key participants in this transformative initiative, reflecting their commitment to open knowledge and research equity.

“Representing five esteemed scholarly society publishers—Annual Reviews, APS, AIAA, ASM, and SPIE—in the landmark One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) initiative is both a privilege and a clear reflection of what strategic, sustained collaboration can accomplish. This milestone agreement, three years in the making, was made possible through the dedicated efforts of KGL Accucoms, whose deep understanding of the Indian research ecosystem and commitment to equitable access played a part in its realization. Through ONOS, these publishers are advancing national research priorities and reaffirming the global significance of society-led publishing. Building on this momentum, KGL Accucoms remains focused on expanding access by working to bring content from its non-ONOS partner publishers to ONOS institutions and private academic communities across India—with the broader goal of integrating them into the ONOS framework in the future.” —Rakesh Malik, Commercial Director APAC, KGL Accucoms
