Amcor Wins Two AmeriStar Awards

Amcor, a global leader in developing and producing responsible packaging solutions, announced that it has earned two AmeriStar awards from the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) for its McCoy™ dunnage free IBC liners for bulk liquid aseptic products, and Perflex® S grab-n-go shrink bags for meat and poultry.

IoPP will showcase the winning packages at PACK EXPO Las Vegas, in IoPP booth C-1154 and the Showcase of Innovations, September 11 through 13, 2023. Amcor will also show the award-winning technologies in their exhibit, booth SU-7244.

McCoy™ Dunnage Free IBC Liners for Bulk Liquid Aseptic Products Reduces Costs Up to 40% – The 330-gallon McCoy™ dunnage free bulk container liner reduces waste and cost, while enhancing sustainability. The combination of co-polymer blends and decreased materials per ply makes the package less susceptible to pinhole leaks and flex-cracking during transit.

Perflex® S Grab-n-go Shrink Bags for Meat and Poultry – Amcor uses an inventive handle design in a shrink bag header to create a one-piece shrink bag that makes it easy to lift and carry slick, heavy, fresh or frozen meat and poultry up to 22 pounds. New Perflex® S shrink bags with integrated grab-n-go handles eliminate the need to use plastic netting with a clipped loop, which previously was the only option to provide a handle to carry heavy products such as turkeys.

Stora Enso has completed the divestment of Bulleh Shah Packaging in Pakistan

Stora Enso has completed the divestment announced on 26 July 2017 of its 35% holding in the equity accounted investment Bulleh Shah Packaging (Private) Ltd. in Pakistan to the main owner Packages Ltd. The total cash consideration for the divestment of the shares is EUR 6 million. The loss on disposal amounts in total to approximately EUR 19 million and it will be recorded as an item affecting comparability in Stora Enso’s third quarter 2017 results. With this transaction, Packages Ltd. achieves full ownership of Bulleh Shah Packaging.

ePac Flexible Packaging Announces Global Expansion

ePac Flexible Packaging, the industry leader in quick turn, short and medium run-length flexible packaging, has announced it will accelerate its growth and transition to a global enterprise over the next 18 months. Eleven new sales and manufacturing locations will be established across Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East/North Africa, and North America bringing ePac’s global footprint to 36 locations. In Europe, a second plant will be added in each of the UK, France, and Poland. In Austria, ePac Innsbruck will open in Q4 2022, along with a new site(s) to serve the Netherlands and the Scandinavian countries. In the Asia Pacific region, second plants will be added in Indonesia and Australia, and a new operation will start up in Malaysia. The company also plans to establish an Asia-based Global Services group to manage operations in the region. In the Middle East/North Africa region, ePac West Africa in Ghana will open in Q4 of this year, while evaluations of new sites in Kenya and Turkey are underway. Finally, in North America, previously announced ePac Montreal is planned to open in early 2023, along with 3 additional plants in the US.
