ANDRITZ to deliver complete old corrugated containers line to Papel Prensa, Argentina

Containerboard production was up 5.1 percent compared to October 2016. The month-over-month average daily production compared to September 2017 was 3.1 percent higher. The containerboard operating rate for October increased from 95.9 percent to 101.3 percent, which was 6 percentage points higher than October of last year. Year-to-date production of containerboard for export is up 3.5 percent, with the October volume surging 16.2 percent above the same month last year.

Flexible packaging paper Koehler NexPlus® Seal is used for secondary packaging. In this way, Ritter is taking up the changed consumer behavior as a pioneer. The switch to paper stand-up pouches was made without any large investment in packaging machines. Alfred Ritter GmbH & Co. The concept of sustainability is becoming a key criterion in shoppers’ purchase decisions, with packaging an increasingly important factor as shoppers no longer take the individual product into sole consideration. Ritter focuses on the first secondary packaging made of paper.

The event marked the completion of the mill’s conversion into our first 100 percent recycled containerboard facility. The two-year project transformed the mill’s uncoated freesheet paper machine into the second-largest 100 percent-recycled containerboard machine in North America, capable of producing approximately 600,000 tons of high-quality recycled linerboard and corrugated medium annually. “Our machine is one of the most sophisticated and highly automated machines in North America,” says Mill Manager Troy Wilson. “Its state-of-the-art technology is enabling us to provide our customers a high-quality, consistent product thanks to a highly controllable, stable and repeatable process.” The mill reopened in January and is now the largest recycled manufacturer in the state of Tennessee.
