APP Statement on the FSC Stakeholder Consultation Phase on the Draft Roadmap to End Disassociation

Asia Pulp & Paper Group (APP) welcomes FSC’s announcement of the start of stakeholders consultation phase on the draft roadmap to end disassociation.

The stakeholders consultation is now being conducted after FSC and APP agreed on a draft Roadmap for Ending Disassociation which outlines the commitments that APP needs to fulfil before the FSC Board of Directors will consider ending its disassociation.

The stakeholders consultation is opened from April 4th until May 31st 2016, and will consist of a series of informational webinars as well as regional consultations.

“We would like to encourage parties with interest to APP’s operation and sustainability to take part in the stakeholders consultation of the draft roadmap. APP is committed to continue our efforts to be in compliance with the FSC Policy for Association, in particular through the consistent implementation of our Forest Conservation Policy and the landscape approach conservation initiatives,” said Aida Greenbury, Managing Director of Sustainability & Stakeholder Engagement, Asia Pulp & Paper Group.

New SFI Board Members Will Enhance SFI’s Leadership Work in Standards, Conservation, Education and Community

The Sustainable Forestry Initiative Inc. (SFI) is pleased to announce the election of four new members to its board of directors: Lillian “Ebonie” Alexander, Executive Director, Black Family Land Trust; Kevin Edgson, President and CEO, EACOM Timber Corporation; Brent Keefer, President, Hancock Timber Resource Group; and Dan Lambe, President, Arbor Day Foundation. These new board members will not only advance SFI’s work within its four pillars – standards, conservation, education, and community – but will strengthen the intersections between them. “These four board members join us at a critical juncture given SFI’s current work to set our strategic direction for the next five years.
