Chain of Custody auditor training in Bulgaria

Auditors from Bulgaria and surrounding countries are invited to join our PEFC Chain of Custody auditor training.

The training takes place in Sofia, Bulgaria from 27-28 November 2018, and is specifically suited for both existing and future auditors, but interested consultants and companies are welcomed too. The training will take place at the Forest Institute at the BAS, Sofia, 132 “Kl.Ohridski” Blvd.

The cost for the two-day training is CHF 500 per person. The training will be in English, with simultaneous interpretation in Bulgarian language provided.

You will receive a certificate of attendance after successful completion of the course. With this certificate you can demonstrate compliance with the PEFC training requirements.

What to expect
Organized by PEFC International and PEFC Bulgaria, the two-day classroom training will first introduce the PEFC system and our organization. The technical part is a detailed walkthrough of the PEFC Chain of Custody standard, introducing all key requirements, combined with group exercises.

This enables the consistent application of the Chain of Custody requirements in daily practice, and allows us to exchange experiences with, and receive valuable feedback from auditors on the implementation of the standard.

Attending a PEFC-recognized training is also a precondition to become a qualified auditor.

The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) recognized Dart Container Corporation with the 2016 AF&PA Leadership in Sustainability Award for Paper Recovery for Recycling for Dart’s Employee Recycling Center. 60,000 trees for the Future Forest

Last September, PEFC Austria concluded the Wish forest campaign, run in collaboration with DIY store BAUHAUS and laminate flooring brand LOGOCLIC. The campaign saw 60,000 trees planted in Austrian forests, with active support of pupils from local primary schools. The young trees for the planting campaign were sponsored by LOGOCLIC and BAUHAUS. The companies promised to plant a tree for every five m2 of LOGOCLIC Wish Forest Edition laminate flooring sold. The final outcome for 2019 was an incredible 60,000 trees planted in the autumn.

Indonesia and Japan take the spotlight at PEFC General Assembly award ceremony

With an increase of almost two million hectares of PEFC-certified forests in Indonesia over the past year, the Indonesian Forestry Certification Cooperation (IFCC) took top prize for growth during our PEFC Forest Certification Week award ceremony. “Without the tremendous support from everyone within the PEFC family and without the strong commitment and hard work from all members of the IFCC family, we would have never arrived at this proud state,” said Dradjad Wibowo, Chairman of IFCC. “So, IFCC thanks everyone from the PEFC and IFCC families for this!
