Drytac appoints Chris Crawford as Territory Sales Manager for Southwest US

Drytac, the leading international manufacturer of self-adhesive materials for the large-format print and signage markets, is delighted to announce the appointment of Chris Crawford as Territory Sales Manager for the Southwest US.

Based out of Las Vegas, Nevada, Chris will be responsible for Southern California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico.

Chris has a wealth of industry knowledge, having worked across both the print and signage markets since 2005. This includes serving in a range of senior positions with various leading print and sign shops, as well as at major print and graphics distributors.

“Chris brings with him a wealth of industry knowledge and I’m delighted to welcome him to the Drytac family,” said Glen Fitzgerald, Director of Sales for the Americas, at Drytac. “Chris has been working in the print and sign markets for more than 18 years now and has an incredible knowledge of both sectors.

Kruger Forced to Partially Shut Down Its Brompton Mill

Due to market conditions that remain unfavorable, after a 6-month temporary shutdown, Kruger Specialty Papers is forced to permanently shut down its newsprint, specialty papers and pulp production at its Brompton Mill. However, the water treatment plant will continue to operate and the biomass cogeneration plant will restart. The Company will use all the measures at its disposal to minimize the impact of this shutdown on the 189 affected employees, including the creation of a reclassification committee. Total European shipments of graphic papers in May were down 9.1% vs. 2021 and are down 9.0% year-to-date. Total European shipments of newsprint in May were down 7.6% vs. 2021 and are down 6.4% year-to-date. Total European shipments of sc-magazine in May were down 8.0% vs. 2021 and are down 9.3% year-to-date. Total European shipments of coated mechanical reels in May were down 22.0% vs. 2021 and are down 19.4% year-to-date. Total European shipments of uncoated mechanical (improved & others) in May were down 10.6% vs. 2021 and are down 10.2% year-to-date. Total European shipments of coated woodfree in May were UP 3.6% vs. 2021 and are UP 2.6% year-to-date. Total European shipments of uncoated woodfree in May were down 9.9% vs. 2021 and are down 11.2% year-to-date.
