Lacerta Group LLC recently invested in expanded regional capabilities, new facilities, and innovative technology to strengthen our commitment to end-to-end customer service. Lacerta is a leading provider of innovative thermoformed packaging solutions that has built its reputation on product integrity, speed to market, and customer care. The acquisition of a facility in the Midwest and larger, consolidated warehousing space in the Northeast is helping customers across the country get packaging products faster and at a competitive price. Lacerta recently opened a fully refurbished and consolidated warehouse center in Attleboro, Mass.

Lacerta also acquired the production facility and other assets of Portage Plastics Corporation in late 2022, expanding services in the Midwest and West markets. The 70,000-square-foot manufacturing and warehouse space include 11 thermoformers for production.

These recent investments complement Lacerta’s existing capabilities and locations in Massachusetts and Chatsworth, California. The company is highly invested in thermoforming technology, with 48 state-of-the-art, high-robotic thermoforming lines.

Oatly recently opened its first production facility in Asia to supply the nearby markets as part of the company’s global expansion. Products produced in the factory will be packed in boxes and transported on pallets during demanding climate conditions offering hot and humid weather which generates challenging logistics chains. The conventional packaging solution to manage high humidity is adding additional material for sturdier packaging. But the team at BillerudKorsnäs BoxLab found a different solution to ensure enhanced sustainability performance while maintaining the high quality standards of Oatly’s secondary packaging. Total U.S. Packaging Papers & Specialty Packaging Shipments Decreased Two Percent in February 2022

Total packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments in February decreased two percent compared to February 2021. They were down two percent when compared to the same two months of 2021. The operating rate was 86.8 percent, down 1.1 points from February 2021 and down 1.0 points year-to-date. Mill inventories at the end of February increased two thousand short tons from the previous month, and were down 11 thousand short tons compared to February 2021.
