Flint Group Lo Energy Heatset Ink Series Development

In these times of unprecedented energy costs it has become clear that the heatset printing sector is now under severe cost pressures from many different areas. The product development team at Flint Group’s Commercial Publication Web Division (CPW) have been assessing how we can develop our products to perform with a lower demand for oven assisted drying.

The availability of natural gas as a resource for drying is being questioned at this time both from an environmental position and with question marks over current and future availability and costs. In order to ensure that the heatset process can continue we have initiated a review of our product range to provide solutions that are both cost effective and practical should the need arise to reduce or eliminate drying from the process.

Our development whilst in early stages and yet to be fully proven will also serve to reduce the total cost of print. The Lo Energy series also helps to reduce the CO2 emissions of the heatset printing process making it a secure option for the future of print.

Following several tests across our customer base we are pleased to announce that we are now in a position to expand the development of this product.

The Prem Eco 7000 Lo Energy Series of inks targets publications produced on improved newsprint and has shown significant reductions in drier utilisation up to 100% dependent on coverage.

Royle Printing Investing in the Future of Print

Royle Printing is pleased to announce they will be implementing a new training program for all employees and prospective employees at the end of this month. The program is called Advanced Careers in Print (ACP). Like many manufacturers in this country, the printing industry is experiencing a wide-spread shortage of skilled labor. Sandy Alexander, a Snow Peak Capital Portfolio Company, Acquires Abbott Communications Group

Sandy Alexander, Inc., a high-end commercial graphic communications firm and Snow Peak Capital portfolio company, today announced it has acquired Abbott Communications Group (ACG). Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. This is the first strategic add-on acquisition for Sandy Alexander since Snow Peak Capital, a Broomfield, Colo.-based private equity firm that invests in middle-market businesses, acquired it in April 2022. Headquartered in Orlando, Florida and founded in 1977, ACG is a premier provider of comprehensive printing, mailing, and print management solutions to customers in the entertainment, hospitality, and advertising markets.
