HH Global are the runners up for the Profit for Purpose award at the World Sustainability Awards 2021

HH Global would like to extend our warmest congratulations to the winners of the inaugural Profit with Purpose Award at the 2021 World Sustainability Awards today, Smithfield Foods.

We are incredibly honoured to have been selected as a finalist for one of these twelve prestigious awards, which honour those who have shown outstanding corporate and social sustainability practices and ultimately encourage other businesses to follow suit. The Profit with Purpose Award commends companies for ensuring business growth is driven by a mission to achieve both social and environmental sustainability, by channeling innovations, focus and profits into these areas.

In the past year alone HH Global have demonstrated this commitment in a variety of ways, such as the launch of our new ESG and Sustainability Assessment, which provides clients with a detailed assessment of their sustainability and marketing spend. We are also proud to have released our second annual ‘Innovation with Purpose’ report, highlighting our ESG achievements and our road-map to achieving net zero carbon by 2040 or sooner. Most recently we were thrilled to have been one of only fifteen industry-leaders invited to meet Prince Charles at Kew Gardens, as part of our involvement in the Sustainable Markets Initiative and Terra Carta.

We are honoured to have been nominated as finalists for the Profit for Purpose award, and it will only encourage our dedication to implementing more innovative sustainable solutions at HH Global going forwards. Publishers Welcome 2018 USTR Special 301 Report Addressing Copyright Protection and Enforcement Issues

The Association of American Publishers (AAP) welcomes the release of the 2018 Special 301 Report by the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR). The Report highlights key markets in which publishers have significant copyright concerns and face market-access barriers. The Report is a critical tool for policymakers to identify barriers that impede the ability of U.S. copyright owners to compete in foreign markets. The Report notes that the U.S. “remains deeply troubled by the ambiguous education-related exception to copyright that has significantly damaged the market for educational publishers and authors.” This overbroad fair dealing exception for education has led to systematic, uncompensated copying and confusing guidance to courts. Hachette Shutters Weinstein Books

The Hachette Book Group announced Thursday that it is "terminating" the Weinstein Books imprint, effective immediately. The decision follows a New York Times report exposing decades of sexual assault allegations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, his subsequent removal by the board of the company he co-founded, and scores of celebrities speaking out against him to the press. HBG took over the imprint with its purchase of the Perseus Books Group, which had struck a co-publishing deal with the Weinstein Company in late 2009, through which Weinstein Books had published about 10 titles a year. In its statement, HBG said titles under the imprint will be now published by the Hachette Books imprint, and all Weinstein Books employees will join the Hachette Books team. Meredith Corp. Makes the Case for Magazines

Stephen Lacy, executive chairman of Meredith Corp., the magazine publisher and owner of 17 broadcast television stations, has had his share of disappointments. In 2013, he tried to buy a group of magazines from Time Warner Inc., only to see Time Warner spin off all its magazines under the Time Inc. umbrella. Mr. Lacy persisted. Meredith-with its long history of women's service titles that include Better Homes & Gardens, Shape and Allrecipes-appeared the most likely partner for Time Inc., whose properties include such women's brands as Real Simple, InStyle and People. Now, after several years of trying, Mr. Lacy has acquired Time Inc. for $1.85 billion, establishing Meredith as the country's largest magazine publisher.
