Inside information: Massimo Reynaudo appointed President and CEO of UPM-Kymmene Corporation as of 1 January 2024

Massimo Reynaudo has been appointed President and CEO of UPM-Kymmene Corporation as of 1 January 2024. Jussi Pesonen will continue as the President and CEO until 31 December 2023, after which he will work as an advisor to the Company and its management until he will retire from UPM on 30 April, 2024.

Massimo Reynaudo has been with UPM since 2017. Reynaudo is an Italian citizen and was born in 1969. He is currently Executive Vice President, UPM Communication Papers. Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President of UPM Raflatac from 2017 to 2021. Earlier in his career, between 1995 and 2017, he held several senior positions at Kimberly-Clark Corporation. He has a master’s degree in engineering from Politecnico di Torino and additional studies in business administration and management.

The new head of UPM Timber, Antti Koulumies looks forward to working with customers

Antti Koulumies, the new Senior Vice President of UPM Timber, stepped into his position in early June, at a point when the timber business is booming. At the same time, the carbon footprint and effect on biodiversity of raw materials are ever more important to customers. Koulumies believes that UPM Timber, as a pioneer of responsible practices in the timber industry, has everything it needs to meet customer expectations now and to further develop in the future. “UPM Timber’s product – timber from responsibly grown forests – is very much in tune with my own values. All four of our sawmills run on renewable energy, and our timber products sequester carbon throughout their lifespan”, he explains.

Kimberly-Clark Announces Third Quarter 2020 Results

Sales of $4.7 billion in the third quarter of 2020 increased 1 percent compared to the year-ago period. Organic sales increased 3 percent, while changes in foreign currency exchange rates reduced sales 2 percent. Volumes rose 2 percent and the combined impact of changes in net selling prices and product mix increased sales 1 percent. In North America, organic sales increased 8 percent in consumer products but fell 15 percent in K-C Professional. Outside North America, organic sales rose 2 percent in developing and emerging markets and 3 percent in developed markets. Third quarter operating profit was $666 million in 2020 and $915 million in 2019. Results in both periods include charges related to the 2018 Global Restructuring Program. Results in 2019 also include a gain on the sale of a manufacturing facility as part of the restructuring.
