Arandell Corp. President and CEO Bradley Hoffman issued the following statement regarding the decision to close the company’s Kentucky facility as a result of business disruption resulting from the economic impacts of COVID-19: This week, we made the difficult decision to close our Kentucky facility as a result of the economic disruption resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to COVID-19, Arandell had been on pace for a strong year and Arandell Kentucky was playing a key role in that growth and success. Unfortunately, the pandemic has had a significant impact on our customers – many of whom have experienced closures, supply chain disruptions and complications from stay-at-home orders. These challenges have affected our production schedules which has led to this week’s difficult decision. Arandell will be consolidating production to its facility in Wisconsin, which will best position the company to continue to meet customer needs while positioning us for long-term success. Our Kentucky facility will ramp down production in the coming weeks, closing operations by July 31, 2020.

Brown Printing of Jefferson City, Missouri and a subsidiary of Modern Litho, Inc., announces Brian Mutert has been named President of the company following the retirement of outgoing President Darla Porter. Mutert joined the company in 2013 when Brown Printing acquired Show Me Printing, which he together with his father Gary Mutert owned and operated. Since then, Mutert, serving as General Manager, has been integral in the daily sales and production management of Brown Printing. He has expanded the product and service offerings of the company including wide format, signage and display graphics, matched mailing and high-speed inserting, and variable data and imaging. Other highlights include leading the company through the integration of operations and customer onboarding that have resulted from several acquisitions of regional commercial printing companies along with sole-service contracts with shuttered in-plant print facilities.

Third Quarter Financial Highlights and Recent Events * Total revenue increased by 23.9% to $67.9 million, from $54.8 million in the third quarter of 2021. * Packaging and specialty products segment revenue of $18.8 million, up 5.8% from $17.8 million last year. * Envelope segment revenue up 32.6% to $49.1 million, from $37.0 million in the prior year. * Net Earnings increased significantly to $8.1 million, or 11.9% of revenue, from $3.4 million or 6.1% of revenue, last year. * Earnings per share of $0.31, up sharply from $0.13 a year ago. * Recorded no assistance from the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (“CEWS”) and Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy (“CERS”) programs in the third quarter of 2022, compared to $0.6 million in the equivalent quarter of 2021. * Purchased 96,600 shares for a total consideration of $0.3 million as part of NCIB program. * Acquisition on November 1, 2022 of Royal Envelope Corporation (“Royal Envelope”) located in Chicago.
