Kimberly-Clark announces plans to invest over $2 Billion to Expand US Manufacturing

Amid rising demand for its consumer brands, which include Huggies® diapers, Kleenex® tissue, Depend® incontinence products, Scott® kitchen towels, and Cottonelle® bath tissue, these investments will significantly enhance its US manufacturing capacity, accelerate its innovation plans and support its ambitious growth targets.

This broad-based investment program centers on two transformative projects: a new advanced manufacturing facility in Warren, Ohio, and an expansion of its Beech Island, South Carolina, site with a state-of-the-art automated distribution center. It also includes additional capital expenditure linked to innovation and automation upgrades across its North America supply chain network.

These projects are expected to create more than 900 highly skilled jobs in industrial automation and advanced manufacturing.

Stora Enso appoints Ad Smit as Executive Vice President of the Packaging Solutions division and a member of the Group Leadership Team. ePac Announces Advance Compliance with PFAS Regulations

ePac Flexible Packaging is pleased to announce that the company has achieved compliance in advance of all state deadlines related to PFAS and plastic packaging. State Laws and regulations banning intentionally added Polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) in packaging have begun to go into effect in 2023. PFAS substances do not break down in water, soil, or the human body and have been identified as a potential health hazard. Eleven states have already enacted legislation for various forms of packaging with the first plastic packaging related deadline in Vermont of July 1 2023. Many other states have legislation in process and more will follow.

Metsä Board’s comparable operating result in January–March 2023 was EUR 89 million

January–March 2023 (compared to 1–3/2022) • Sales were EUR 542.1 million (582.0). • The comparable operating result was EUR 88.7 million 121.5), or 16.4% of sales (20.9). Operating result was EUR 88.4 million (140.7). • Comparable earnings per share were EUR 0.19 (0.26), and earnings per share were EUR 0.19 (0.31). • Comparable return on capital employed was 13.9 % (21.1). • Net cash flow from operations was EUR 126.4 million (92.6).
