Klabin presents sustainable corrugated board packaging at 25th Hortitec

Between June 20 and 22, Klabin will participate in the 25th Hortitec, Brazil’s largest technical fair targeted at the farm produce sector, to be held in Holambra in the interior region of São Paulo state. Along with EcoKraft, the company will showcase its recyclable corrugated board packaging for the farm produce segment.

At the Klabin booth, visitors can learn about the characteristics of the packaging solution, which is tailored to the specifications of diverse products in this market. The company’s corrugated board boxes come in specific formats to accommodate and pack fruits, vegetables, greens and other food products, ensuring resistance, protection of the contents, as well as ease of storage and transportation. Moreover, the packaging is recyclable and produced using raw material obtained from planted and certified forests.

Considered one of the main fairs in the farm produce segment in Brazil, Hortitec features several companies from the sector, which present diverse inputs for the segment, from machinery, packaging and protection equipment to seeds, seedlings and fertilizers

Sealed Air to Offer Plantic™ Bio-Based Food Packaging in the United States, Canada and Mexico

Sealed Air Corporation has entered into an agreement with Kuraray America, Inc., a Japanese chemical company, to offer food packaging materials derived from its Plantic™ bio-based resins. “We are expanding our portfolio of sustainable solutions with Plantic’s bio-based materials. This solution enables us to offer a renewable packaging option and continue helping the industry address food waste by extending the shelf-life and freshness of food,” said Karl Deily, President of Sealed Air Food Care. WestRock To Sell Ownership Interest in RTS Packaging, LLC to Sonoco; Agrees to Sell URB Mills in Illinois and Indiana to Ox Industries

WestRock Company announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to wholly divest its ownership interest in RTS Packaging, LLC, to joint venture partner Sonoco Products Company for $330 million, subject to customary price adjustments. In addition, the Company has signed a definitive agreement to sell its uncoated recycled paperboard (URB) mills in Eaton, Indiana, and Aurora, Illinois, to Ox Industries for $50 million.
