Greif has launched a lightweight, high-performance jerrycan in Brazil suitable for packaging agrochemicals, chemicals, flavors, fragrances, and beverages. The JCR20L is almost 20 percent lighter than the standard 20-liter jerrycan. The reduced weight accommodates up to seven percent more jerrycans per pallet and 6.7 percent greater warehouse storage capacity. In addition, the lighter weight means lower collection costs for recycling. Fresh Attitude salads now sold in 100% recycled plastic packaging produced by Cascades

Vegpro, the largest fresh baby lettuces producer in Canada, and Cascades have established a partnership aimed at replacing all Fresh Attitude salad containers, traditionally made from virgin plastic, with 100% recycled and recyclable plastic containers. Custom-designed for Vegpro by Cascades, these containers are manufactured at the Cascades Inopak plant in Drummondville, Québec. The two companies have teamed up to offer consumers a container with a smaller environmental footprint that also helps to extend the shelf life of salads. The containers improve airflow and prolong conservation time by limiting the build up of excess humidity. This way, the baby lettuces remain fresh and crisp longer.

No more rolling in plastic – Megaflex Schaumstoff switches to Mondi’s paper solution for rollpacking mattresses

Mondi has created Protector Bag ExpandForm, a paperbag solution with an expandable feature to safely rollpack mattresses. Protector Bag ExpandForm replaces the current plastic packaging with a flexible and recyclable alternative. The solution is also customisable and can expand to different sizes while holding the mattress securely. The packaging is made with Mondi’s kraft paper, which is responsibly sourced and renewable, and can be recycled contributing to a circular economy. The paper bag is puncture resistant and suitable for printing, meaning brands can customise their deliveries with a high-quality finish. Unlike plastic, the paper layers are also breathable and can emit gas that can evaporate easily with this new packaging.
