SEE Acquires Foxpak

SEE (NYSE: SEE) has announced the acquisition of Foxpak Flexibles Ltd. (Foxpak) under SEE Ventures, its initiative for investing in disruptive technologies and business models to accelerate growth.

Foxpak, a privately-owned Irish packaging solutions company, pioneered the development of digital printing on flexible packaging. Foxpak partners with leading brands to deliver highly decorated packaging solutions; stand-up and spout pouches, and sachets that serve a variety of markets including food retail, pet food, seafood, and snacks.

Foxpak has leveraged digital printing capabilities to print directly on its flexible packaging materials to empower their customers’ brands. Their solutions can be quickly scaled up or down to meet the production requirements for customers of any size.

Established in 2001, Foxpak is located in Collon, Ireland and employs 33 people, serving brands in more than 30 countries.

Saica invests over Euro 100 million in new plant in Barcelona, Spain

Work has begun on Saica Group’s new corrugated board factory in Barcelona, which will start operating in the spring of 2025. Located in the municipality of Sant Esteve Sesrovires, the plant will combine the operations currently carried out at Saica Pack El Prat and Saica Pack Barcelona. The new project involves an investment of more than Euro 100 million and aims to increase the current joint production of the two factories by up to 45%. The new factory will be equipped with the latest technology, seamlessly combining flexography and offset processes. It will offer significant advances through the digitalisation of customer services, enabling Saica to deliver the high-quality standards and service that set them apart from the market.

O-I Glass Sells Cristar Tableware Business as Part of Its Ongoing Portfolio Optimization Program

O-I Glass, Inc. announced that a subsidiary of the company has entered into a definitive agreement to sell Cristar TableTop S.A.S. (“Cristar”) to Vidros Colombia S.A.S, an affiliate of Nadir Figueiredo S.A., a glass tableware producer based in Brazil. The sale would generate gross proceeds of approximately $95 million and is expected to close during the first half of 2022, subject to customary regulatory approvals and other closing conditions. Cristar owns a dedicated tableware manufacturing plant in Buga, Colombia, that exports tableware to approximately 40 countries around the world and generated approximately $14.6 million of EBITDA(1) during the last twelve months ended September 30, 2021. “O-I continues to advance its strategy including the company’s portfolio optimization program which will enable future growth in the core business,” said Andres Lopez, O-I Glass CEO. “We are deploying proceeds from the sale of non-core assets to help fund our expansion plan, leveraging our exciting new MAGMA solution, that includes investment with attractive returns.”
