Smurfit Kappa Holds Eighth Innovation Event in Paris This Year

More than 250 customers came to the ‘Packaging and Perspectives’ event.

Smurfit Kappa held its eighth Innovation Event this year in Paris. More than 250 customers came to the “Packaging and Perspectives” event, which took a look at how packaging will be affected by supply chain and network fragmentation using a variety of media.

Alongside the conference, visitors had the opportunity to participate in an interactive live session with two Smurfit Kappa design teams tasked with developing complete shelf ready packaging and display solutions in real time. The designs that were created were based on votes from the customers.

To help create optimized packaging solutions, the design teams used insights from the Smurfit Kappa ShelfSmart and SupplySmart tools. At the end of the day, the participants were able to see the end results using an advanced virtual reality shop projected on a 15-meter screen.

Participants were also able to visit an interactive packaging exhibition, which included the latest Smurfit Kappa’s innovations and insights in design and sustainability.

Klabin wins two categories at the Fastmarkets RISI PPI Awards

Ahlstrom receives Packaging S.T.A.R. Award from Taco Bell®

In a recent supplier award ceremony, Ahlstrom was recognized specifically for their packaging contributions to the Taco Bell® brand. “We are extremely humbled to have received this recognition from our Taco Bell® partners,” commented Travis Dahlke, Vice President of Ahlstrom’s North American Food business. Dahlke and members of his team accepted the award during the event. “This is a result of strong collaboration through our entire value chain – from Taco Bell® through our converting partners.” The S.T.A.R. awards (Supplier – Tracking – Assessment – Recognition) uses company-wide audits built to qualify supplier performance in several categories, including Packaging.
