Strike threat in the transport sector in Finland

Negotiations on the collective agreements of the Finnish Transport Workers Union AKT continue today, February 13, 2023. Wage negotiations are also going on for truck drivers and terminal workers. If agreements cannot be reached, the entire Finnish transport industry is threatened with a large-scale strike, which, if implemented, will significantly affect the flow of freight traffic.

Due to ongoing overtime ban at the Finnish ports, one ferry service between Germany and Finland has been cancelled today.

Oil Steadies Near $62 After Rallying on U.S. Employment Data

The U.S. jobs report topped estimates last week, increasing confidence in the world’s biggest economy, giving a boost to the outlook for energy demand and driving benchmark crude prices up 3.2 percent on Friday. American oil explorers idled four rigs last week after six consecutive increases in drilling, easing fears over surging shale production.
