Xanita Board Launches in the US with Help from Mohawk

Xanita, the makers of sustainable fiberboard, launched the Xanita Board in the USA and Canada. Xanita Board is being brought to market through a partnership with Mohawk Fine Papers Inc.

The partnership will entail Mohawk taking the position of master distributor for Xanita Board in the North American region. Mohawk will offer the full range of Xanita products and have stock available until the end of March 2018.

“The U.S. is by far the biggest market in our category, and we’re thrilled to have a partner like Mohawk to help maximize our position in the market,” says James Beattie, CEO, Xanita.

Xanita Board offers new revenue streams and business opportunities for printers with digital flatbed printing and CNC-cutting capabilities. The closed cell design makes Xanita Board significantly stronger than visually similar honeycomb board products. Its strength and denser core makes Xanita Board ideal for structural applications such as point-of-sale displays, custom expo booths, shopfitting and signage applications.

Spanish fashion retailer Alvaro Moreno to save 90 tonnes of plastic per year by switching to more sustainable packaging from Mondi

Mondi has helped Spanish retail chain Alvaro Moreno to save almost 90 tonnes of plastic per year by switching from plastic to paper shopping, online delivery and gift bags. In the past, Alvaro Moreno used more than 3.7 million plastic bags and containers per year. By switching to paper packaging for its bags and thus reducing its plastic consumption, the company is demonstrating its commitment to sustainability. All three bags are recyclable and made from Mondi’s Advantage and EcoVantage product ranges using renewable and responsibly sourced materials. EcoVantage is Mondi’s newest paper range created with fresh pulp and recycled fibres, providing a high-quality printing surface to feature the brand’s distinct white logo and promote the sustainability benefits for its customers.

Interfor Reports Q4’21 Results

INTERFOR CORPORATION recorded Net earnings in Q4’21 of $69.7 million, or $1.15 per share, compared to $65.6 million, or $1.05 per share in Q3’21 and $149.1 million, or $2.24 per share in Q4’20. Adjusted net earnings in Q4’21 were $78.2 million compared to $46.7 million in Q3’21 and $164.7 million in Q4’20. Interfor recorded Net earnings of $819.0 million, or $12.88 per share in 2021, compared to $280.3 million, or $4.18 per share in 2020. Adjusted EBITDA was $1.2 billion on sales of $3.3 billion.
