Ahlstrom’s Cristal™ base papers are an optimum solution for transparent packaging. By partnering with adapa and Maped, the three companies have developed fiber-based window packaging for a popular school supply – erasers.

€40 million investment in state-of-the-art technology as part of Smurfit Kappa’s expansion in Poland

The expansion makes the plant Smurfit Kappa’s largest in Poland and one of the most high-tech and modern packaging plants in Europe. In addition to the state-of-the-art machinery installed at the plant, it is expected that a further 50 new jobs will be created, bringing employment to more than 250 staff at the location. ePac Announces Advance Compliance with PFAS Regulations

ePac Flexible Packaging is pleased to announce that the company has achieved compliance in advance of all state deadlines related to PFAS and plastic packaging. State Laws and regulations banning intentionally added Polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) in packaging have begun to go into effect in 2023. PFAS substances do not break down in water, soil, or the human body and have been identified as a potential health hazard. Eleven states have already enacted legislation for various forms of packaging with the first plastic packaging related deadline in Vermont of July 1 2023. Many other states have legislation in process and more will follow.

WestRock Reports Fiscal 2022 Fourth Quarter Results

Fourth Quarter Highlights and other notable items: *Record fourth quarter net sales of $5.4 billion increased 6.1% year-over-year *Net income of $345 million increased $21 million year-over-year, or 6.4%. Adjusted Net Income of $366 million increased $34 million year-over-year, growing 10.4%. Full Year 2022 Highlights: *Record full year net sales of $21.3 billion increased 13.4% compared to $18.7 billion in the prior year *Net income of $945 million increased $106 million year-over-year, or 12.7%. Adjusted Net Income of $1.245 billion increased $338 million year-over-year, growing 37.2%
