As Postal Reform Bill Awaits President’s Signature, One More Crucial Step

While we wait for President Biden to sign the Senate-passed Postal Service Reform Act (and our intel says this will happen soon), now is an ideal time to reach out to your senators if you heeded to our call to request their support of the bill.

Why Bother?
As an industry stakeholder, your advocacy has been critical in driving the legislation forward and it’s important that legislators and staff hear from you, especially when signature pieces of legislation are enacted that will help the industry. As importantly, expressing your company’s recognition and appreciation to Congressional staffs for their hard work is an essential component to relationship-building in Washington.

• Click here to see which senators voted in favor of the bill – obviously, make sure you’re only thanking those who voted YEA.
• Click here for a list of all Senate legislative directors, which contains their email addresses and phone numbers. It’s advised that you simply email them your thank-you notes.

Meredith Corporation's category-leading brands—PEOPLE, Allrecipes, Better Homes & Gardens, SHAPE, Southern Living, Entertainment Weekly, FOOD & WINE and Travel + Leisure—have achieved momentous performances in audience rankings, according to the latest Magazine Media 360° Brand Audience Report produced by the Alliance for Audited Media (AAM) for June 2020, which covers 93 magazine brands and 21 publishing companies. PEOPLE, one of the world's leading entertainment media brands, ranks No. 1 in Total Brand Audience across platforms with 87.6 million, followed by Allrecipes, America's largest digital food media brand, at No. 2 with 62.5 million and Better Homes & Gardens at No. 7 with 39.4 million.

S&P Global Revenue Increased 8% in the Second Quarter

S&P Global eported second quarter 2021 results with revenue of $2,106 million, an increase of 8% compared to the same period last year with every segment delivering revenue growth. Net income increased 1% to $798 million. Diluted earnings per share increased 1% to $3.30 primarily due to revenue growth partially offset by increased compensation-related expenses. Merger Update: S&P Global and IHS Markit continue to progress with merger integration planning. In addition, work with global regulators remains underway and we anticipate closing the transaction in the fourth quarter of 2021. Profit Margin: The Company's operating profit margin decreased 210 basis points to 54.8% primarily due to a challenging expense comparison to the second quarter of 2020 and increased compensation-related expenses, and costs related to the pending merger with IHS Markit in 2021.
