Constantia Flexibles announces acquisition of Aluflexpack

Fourth Quarter 2022 Financial Highlights: *Net Revenues of $1,476 million for the fourth quarter of 2022 were down 3% compared to $1,527 million in the fourth quarter of 2021 and down 8% compared to $1,609 million in the third quarter of 2022. *Net Income from continuing operations of $27 million for the fourth quarter of 2022 decreased 21% compared to $34 million in the fourth quarter of 2021 and decreased 85% compared to $175 million in the third quarter of 2022. Full Year 2022 Financial Highlights: *Net Revenues of $6,220 million for the year ended December 31, 2022 were up 14% compared to $5,437 million in the prior year. *Net Income from continuing operations of $319 million for the year ended December 31, 2022 compared to $33 million in the prior year.

The annual Green Packaging Star Awards recognise environmentally-friendly packaging and recycling solutions, as well as packaging-related improvements in operational processes in production, logistics, and distribution. The award is presented by Kompack magazine and the Austrian Research Institute for Chemistry and Technology. The judges of these awards recognised the high standard of the following three Mondi products: 1. EcoVantage paper for Tesco shopping bags - Mondi's collaboration with the retailer aims to close the loop by working across the whole supply chain. The partnership involves Mondi recycling Tesco’s existing corrugated packaging waste and then transforming it into EcoVantage paper. 2. WalletPack Recyclable for well-known German deli meats - Working with Bell Germany, Mondi created packaging for the meat producer’s ‘Abraham’ range of sliced deli meats. WalletPack Recylable, a mono-material solution that helps prevent food waste and has been verified by the German institute cyclos-HTP as 93% recyclable. 3. Functional Barrier Paper substituting plastic packaging - Mondi’s barrier-coated functional papers aim to transform packaging for a range of products including food and toys where, until now, paper has been unimaginable as a sustainable alternative. An ideal replacement for plastic laminates, the barrier papers can be used for dry food, frozen food, secondary packaging, and flow pack applications.

Sonoco-Alcore S.a.r.l. today announced it will again raise prices by a further €50 per tonne (£40 / tonne) on all recycled paperboard grades sold in the Company's European regions. The price change is effective with shipments on or after 17th July 2017. "Demand for raw materials has continued to rise throughout the year as a result of China's "National Sword" initiative, new capacity within the paper packaging sector, and the European economy currently being stronger than we have seen in recent years. The resultant continued increase in raw material costs are again unsustainable and we now have no choice but to pass these increases through into the market," said Phil Woolley, Director - Paper Europe.
