Consultation on FSC Remedy Framework closing soon!

The FSC Remedy Framework has been open for public consultation since March. The final week of the consultation is here; it will be open until 10 May 2022. FSC invites all its stakeholders to participate in this consultation process, by clicking here.

FSC invites stakeholders to participate in this consultation process by responding to the questions found in the FSC Consultation Platform pertaining to different sections of the FSC Remedy Framework. In addition, FSC also wants feedback on specific sections of the FSC Policy to Address Conversion, which have been developed based on previous stakeholder consultations, and additional questions concerning the revised version of FSC Policy for Association.

Descriptions of the different elements and sections open for stakeholder feedback are available in the FSC Consultation Platform.

FSC is pleased to share a set of easy to navigate and visual communication material that unravel the interlinkages and complexities of this package of work around conversion and remedy. They are:

FPAC Welcomes Forest Ministers’ Innovation Action Plan

The Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC) today welcomed the Canadian Council of Forest Ministers’ (CCFM) new Innovation Action Plan, calling it an “important step” towards a low-carbon economy. Following an all-day meeting yesterday in Dawson City, Yukon on the future of Canada’s forests and forest products sector, the CCFM announced a renewed commitment to enhance “innovation and industry transformation,” including the Action Plan that outlines how Canadian jurisdictions will better work together on innovation and bio-economy initiatives. Under the three pillars of collaboration, engagement and mobilization, the CCFM’s Innovation Action Plan outlines how jurisdictions will work together to help the forest sector achieve its potential in areas such as bio-products and building with wood, competitiveness and sustainability.

Last chance for feedback on ST 1004: certification body requirements for sustainable forest management

The deadline to give your feedback on the second draft of ST 1004, requirements for certification bodies operating sustainable forest management certification, is just a few days away. This is the second public consultation for this vital benchmark standard, with the first consultation concluding earlier this year. The working group developing the document discussed the feedback received during the first consultation and revised the draft standard accordingly. Now we need to hear from you again. Give your comments, feedback, and suggestions, to help us ensure this standard meets your needs and expectations. The deadline for comments is 5 September 2023.
