Irving to Increase SC Prices 7/1/18

The global printing and writing paper markets continue to evolve at a faster pace than seen in some time. We have seen many recent challenges facing our industry such as significant global capacity closures and conversions away from paper, global wood and pulp shortages, chronic and ongoing North American logistics issues and rising inputs costs to name a few. To keep pace with these new realities please be advised that Irving Paper will increase its prices of Irving SCA, Irving SCB, Irving Radiance (SCA+) and Irving Opulence (SCA++) $40 USD/Short Ton (all Basis weights) effective with new and existing orders shipping on and after July 1, 2018 in the US Market and $50 CDN / Short Ton in Canada. This increase is in addition to the previous March and May increases.

Metsä Group’s comparable operating result in the third quarter of 2020 better than expected

On 30 July 2020 in connection to the announcement of Metsä Group’s January-June 2020 results it was estimated that the comparable operating result will weaken in the third quarter of 2020 from the EUR 96 million in the second quarter. Mainly due to better than expected profitability in paperboard and pulp businesses Metsä Group’s comparable operating result was in the third quarter of 2020 better than in the second quarter. Based on preliminary unaudited information the comparable operating result was approximately EUR 115 million in the third quarter of 2020. Metsä Group will publish the January-September 2020 interim report on 29 October 2020.
