Transcontinental Inc.'s Media Sector, TC Media, announced today the sale of three of its publications, namely L'Étoile du Lac, based in Roberval, Le Lac-St-Jean, in Alma, and Le Nouvelles Hebdo, in Dolbeau-Mistassini, as well as their related web properties, to Trium Médias Inc. The group consists of two TC Media employees, namely Ms. Marlène Claveau and Ms. Stéphanie Gagnon, as well as Mr. Daniel St-Pierre. The 23 employees of these publications will pursue their careers with Trium Médias Inc. The Corporation would like to thank them for their professionalism and wishes them the best for the future. Furthermore, TC Transcontinental also concluded a multi-year agreement for the printing and distribution of these three publications. This transaction is part of the process for the sale of TC Media's local and regional newspapers in Quebec and Ontario, which was made public in a press release issued by Transcontinental Inc. on April 18.
CJK Group, Inc. announced today that it has acquired publishing consultancy and editorial services provider, Kaufman Wills Fusting & Company (KWF) and integrated it with its existing, comprehensive content solutions subsidiary, KnowledgeWorks Global Ltd. (KGL).
Based in Baltimore, MD, and employing 99 people, KWF Consulting and sister company KWF Editorial are leading providers of management consulting support and professional editorial services to the scholarly publishing community. KWF Consulting advises clients on strategic planning, new product development, market research, and RFP negotiations. KWF Editorial provides professional staffing solutions for journal editorial office management, peer review services, and editor support.
KGL will retain the management and staff of KWF in its entirety while adding the journal support and publishing consulting services to its portfolio of publisher solutions that include editorial, production, online hosting and digital learning services for books, journals, and other publications in the academic, professional, education, and trade markets. KGL is also home to the automated Smart Suite publishing engine and PubFactory digital delivery platform, and it provides integrated print solutions through its sister company, Sheridan.
