Pixelle Updates WARN Notices for Chillicothe Paper Mill Employees-Last Day of Operation-August 10

Since the initial announcement in April, Pixelle has worked diligently with government and community
partners to explore every viable path forward. Pixelle continues to provide impacted employees with a
range of support resources, including career transition services, job placement assistance, and ongoing
access to the Employee Assistance Program to help navigate this transition. While the initial shutdown
timing was paused in good faith, staffing levels and customer demand have declined in recent weeks
such that a further delay is no longer possible. As a result, the updated WARN notice reflects a new date
of August 10, 2025, as our last date of operation of the Chillicothe Paper Mill.

Stora Enso starts new dispersion barrier line in Forshaga

Stora Enso has completed the installation of dispersion barrier technology at its Forshaga site in Sweden and production has now started. Completion of the installation follows the company’s EUR 10 million investment announced in 2020. The installation was carried out on time and the production of new products will be ramped up during the coming months. Dispersion barrier technology enables the production of more sustainable packaging solutions, facilitating the use of renewable wood fiber materials in demanding end uses such as food packaging. These products are also easier to handle in a recycling process, have a lower carbon footprint and can be composted in industrial facilities.

FPAC Statement on Uncoated Groundwood Duties

The US Department of Commerce imposed unwarranted countervailing duties up to 9.93% on imported Canadian uncoated groundwood paper (newsprint). Forest Products Association of Canada strongly believes that these duties are completely unjustified and protectionist in nature. We call on the federal government to stand with us and the over 4,500 hard-working Canadians from British Columbia to Newfoundland and Labrador who could be impacted by this frivolous trade action. As it has with the softwood lumber dispute, this trade action will bring real harm to U.S. workers and businesses, impacting over 600,000 American jobs. We applaud the leadership of the many Democratic and Republican U.S. Senators, and the publishers of over one thousand small and medium-sized U.S. newspapers who have demanded that Washington not impose countervailing and anti-dumping duties on Canadian newsprint. Norpac Price increase on Orca Offset

Effective with all shipments from February 1, 2018, we will increase the price of our Uncoated Free Sheet Offset Rolls by $2.00/cwt. This includes all mill branded as well as private labeled rolls. All standard up-charges and shipping policies remain in effect.
