Sheridan Worzalla Prints 18th Installment of Diary of a Wimpy Kid

The Sheridan Worzalla printing facility, which specializes in high-quality children’s books, cookbooks, and hardcover best sellers, is celebrating the release of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: No Brainer. This is the 18th book from the #1 international bestselling series Diary of a Wimpy Kid by author and cartoonist Jeff Kinney, and published by Abrams. Sheridan Worzalla has been the domestic manufacturing headquarters of the popular series since the first book.

“We are proud to be entrusted to print the next installment of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series,” said Paul Bozuwa, President of Sheridan. “With our dedication to maintaining quality printing standards, we cannot wait for Wimpy Kid fans to get the latest edition in their hands.”

Publisher Abrams announced No Brainer in the spring of 2023 so that Sheridan Worzalla could plan for the production of millions of copies of the 224-page hardcovered young adult fiction book. The operation is housed in a 365,000-square-foot facility and includes the full process of printing the book from putting ink to page, binding, and delivery. Associates worked to ensure quality control at every stage of the printing process conducting pre-press checks, color accuracy and print quality tests, and binding and finishing checks. The entire process took 80,000 manhours and a team of over 350 associates.

Phoenix Color Acquires Moore-Langen Printing from LSC Communications

Phoenix Color, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ALJ Regional Holdings, announced that it has entered into an asset purchase agreement to acquire the assets of Moore-Langen Printing in Terre Haute, Ind., from LSC Communications. ALJ and Phoenix expect to finance the acquisition by amending ALJ's existing term loan with Cerberus Business Finance, selling an aggregate of $1.5 million of ALJ common stock in a private offering to two investors who are unaffiliated with ALJ, and using $1.0 million in proceeds received from the recent stock option exercise by Jess Ravich, executive chairman of ALJ.
