Aptar Reports Second Quarter 2023 Results

AptarGroup, Inc. (NYSE:ATR), a global leader in drug and consumer product dosing, dispensing and protection technologies, today reported strong operational performance driven by continued growth of the company’s proprietary drug delivery systems and significant sequential improvement in injectables sales as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation effects moderated. Strong sales from prestige and mass fragrance also contributed positively to the results. Reported sales increased by 6% and core sales, excluding currency and acquisition effects, increased by 4%. Aptar reported net income of $83 million for the quarter, a 31% increase over the prior year.

Commenting on the second quarter results, Stephan B. Tanda, Aptar President and CEO, said, “Aptar delivered strong, double-digit EPS growth in the second quarter, highlighted by increased core sales in our pharma proprietary dosing and dispensing systems and the success of our beauty dispensing solutions in fragrance. Our strong performance coupled with our ongoing efforts to reduce costs, resulted in improved margins. Additionally, I am proud to share the ESG progress made by our global team, with the recent release of our Corporate Sustainability Report, which highlights key milestones, strategic progress and the competitive advantage our leading position affords us.”

Mondi Upgrades its Paper Bags Facility in Hungary

Mondi, leading global packaging and paper group, has successfully completed the implementation of a new state-of-the-art paper sack converting machine at its Nyíregyháza site in Hungary. The machine – a Windmöller & Hölscher AD 8320 / AM 8115 – allows the plant to produce a new line of sophisticated paper sacks for food packaging. The site will be capable of producing more than 130 million sacks annually. The Mondi Nyíregyháza plant, which employs more than one hundred people, serves the Hungarian, Romanian, Austrian and Bulgarian market in many industries and sectors. It produces industrial paper sacks (open mouth and valve bags) for applications such as cement, building materials, food-feed-seed, chemicals and pharmaceuticals.

Coca-Cola Turkey has launched its summer promotional range, making unprecedented use of thermochromic inks to add color, function and fun to ten new aluminium beverage can designs. Historically, one or two thermochromic inks have been combined to communicate temperature changes. For the first time, Coca-Cola Turkey is using thermochromic ink technology as a true decorative tool, making it an integral part of how the can looks. Four separate inks have been used to create bright designs that stand out when the cans are chilled and the drinks ready for consumption. The designs featured on Coke Red and Coke Zero beverage cans all have summer themes, ranging from ice cubes and palm trees to sandals and sailing boats.
