CVG to Launch Crown Letsgo 3rd GEN

Crown Van Gelder is pleased to announce we will begin production of our enhanced 3rd generation inkjet papers on February 1, 2021 for the following grades: – Crown Letsgo Universal – Crown Letsgo Matte – Crown Letsgo Silk and Bright Silk, ColorPRO branded version

This switch brings several advantages for pigment inks:

  1. First and foremost it brings visible and measurable quality improvements in the print result of presses operating with pigment inks;
  2. You can reduce total cost of print, because you will reach the same colors with less ink.

You will start receiving 3rd GEN paper as soon as existing stock is depleted. You can easily recognize the new paper on the label, with the addition 3rd GEN behind the grade name.

Rayonier Advanced Materials and Tembec Announce Antitrust Clearance from the Competition Bureau of Canada in connection with the Transaction

Rayonier Advanced Materials Inc. and Tembec Inc. announced that they received clearance from the Competition Bureau of Canada, without condition, of the previously announced proposed statutory arrangement under Section 192 of the Canada Business Corporations Act involving the acquisition by Rayonier Advanced Materials of all of the outstanding shares of Tembec. In addition to clearance by the Competition Bureau, the Transaction already has received antitrust clearance from the Anti-Monopoly Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, Germany’s Federal Cartel Office, and the United States Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission. As such, Rayonier Advanced Materials and Tembec have now received all required antitrust clearances. The Transaction has also been approved by Tembec’s shareholders and by the Québec Superior Court. Subject to obtaining other necessary approvals, as well as the satisfaction or waiver of other conditions to the Transaction, it is expected that the Transaction will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2017.

First barge of logging waste chips successfully loaded in new First Nations partnership

Paper Excellence is pleased to announce the first barge has been successfully loaded with chips produced by Atli Chip Limited Partnership which is a new First Nations partnership for the Company. The Atli Chip Limited Partnership, situated in Beaver Cove, is majority owned by Atli Resources LP with minority stakes owned by Paper Excellence and Wahkash Contracting Ltd. Atli Resources LP is the forestry arm of the ‘Namgis First Nation. Wahkash Contracting Ltd. is a stump-to-dump logging contractor specializing in remote logging in coastal BC. “As part of this partnership, Paper Excellence also entered into a chipping services agreement to receive all the chip and hog production from the facility,” said Paper Excellence’s Chief Forester, Quinton Hayward, RPF. “This first barge of chips will be consumed by one of our four coastal mills located in Powell River, Port Mellon, Crofton and Port Alberni. It is an exciting milestone in this partnership.”
