Barnes & Noble Launches New Online Book-Buying Portal “Classroom” for Schools and Educators

Barnes & Noble, Inc., the world’s largest retail bookseller, today announced a new online book portal for schools across the country to get the books and products they need from Barnes & Noble’s extensive catalog. This free portal is an easy, fast, and efficient way for educational institutions K-12 to purchase and track ordering from Barnes & Noble as well as get access to curated book recommendations and personalized support. Educational institutions should look for an invitation to join Classroom by Barnes & Noble from their local Business Development Manager or put in a request by emailing BulkOrders@bn.com.

GQ, New York Mag, and The New Yorker Win Pulitzer Prizes

Three magazines were earned Pulitzer Prize winners Monday afternoon as part of the 102nd class of honorees, the fourth since the nation’s top journalism honors were first expanded to include glossies in addition to newspapers. The New Yorker‘s Ronan Farrow—whose reporting on Harvey Weinstein’s history of sexual assault and cover-ups were integral to the subsequent national discourse around the #MeToo movement—shared honors in the Public Service category with New York Times reporters Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey. Gap Inc. And Gap Foundation Increase Support For Relief Efforts Following Recent Natural Disasters

In response to the devastation caused recently by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria, and earthquakes in Mexico, Gap Inc. and Gap Foundation have increased their total donation to $2 million to address immediate needs and ongoing recovery efforts. The donation includes cash grants from Gap Foundation to on-the-ground relief organizations, donations from Gap Inc. brands towards critical clothing needs, and employee-matched donations. So far, nearly 100,000 units of clothing have already been delivered to Texas and Florida, with additional clothing donations planned in the coming months. So far, a total of $180,000 has been donated by Gap Inc. employees, which includes company-matched funds.
